Simple Tips For ABAP Interview: Three Types

Before I discuss about the type of interview first let me tell about the type of projects that ABAPers are recruited for. the type of projects are basically implementation, support and rollout. Now the Interview pattern can very much depend upon the type of project that the recruiter is recruiting for currently.
If it’s a implementation project he will ask you questions mainly from ABAP dictionary, and module pool, including the validation of the fields. Please don’t exclude other contents as I don’t mean that he/she will totally exclude questions from other topics.
If it’s a support project the focus will be on reports, scripts, smart forms and enhancements.
if it’s a rollout project the questions will dance around Bapi, Rfc, badi, SPDD, SPAU, DBA cockpit, UC check etc.
ALE/Idocs is a topic on which you may face exclusive interviews as most companies require ALE/Idocs experts for their projects.
Please take the above information as a guideline and not as a rule. The pattern of the interview varies a lot on the interviewer.
Keep all these tips in mind and face the interview perfectly. If you still have doubts feel free to comment or reach me.

My Experience with SAP ABAP Interview

For candidates who are eager to work in the SAPdomain, after getting trained in the appropriate module the next thing that haunts them is how to face the interview! I am writing this article specific to SAP ABAP interview. My first ABAP interview lasted just for 15 minutes. Why? I was not aware of some questions and so, the interviewer finished it soon.

Through my experience of facing the interviews, I can divide the interview in two types. These two types depend on the size of the company. My experience tells me that BIG MNC giants like Wipro, Infosys, TCS, IBM, Accenture and similar companies have a very simple interview process. Let me be more specific, I mean the technical round. The questions asked by these big MNCs are simple and I am sure if you have covered your ABAP course content wisely you will be able to answer almost all the questions.
The other interview is which, held by comparatively smaller companies. Now, the technical round with these companies is very tricky. The reason being these companies don’t want to recruit anyone. They just want to recruit person whom they can directly deploy in the project that they have. So, they will ask very specific questions which, will be related to the project that they have and so succeeding in these interviews may be slightly difficult.
Hope this information is useful and so you can now prepare yourself accordingly.

Hello everyone!

I am not a blogger, I am an ABAPer and my aim is to provide information related to SAP and ABAP in the most effective manner.

ERP soft-wares are ruling the world, and SAP is the king among them. ABAP is the programming language of SAP. Ruling the ERP market for more than 40 years the job market is very strong in SAP and more specifically in ABAP.

If you are looking for a stable career that is least affected by the frequent slow down in software domain then probably you have arrived at the correct page. You can learn and master this language and be confident of a bright future that SAP will bring in your life.

Being an ABAPer I have gained knowledge thorough various modes and channels. I have also been into imparting this gained knowledge to friends, students and other people who are interested in learning this language and having several years of teaching experience.
